Quality, not mass production.
We offer our harvest in deliberately limited quantities, for homes that notice the difference in fragrance, sweetness, and shelf life.
Mahabaleshwar · Kaswand Mountain
At La valée, we believe in the inherent goodness of fresh farm produce. The processes of planting, nurturing, harvesting, and sharing this bounty can profoundly impact our lives and the environment. It is the freshness of our products that invites families to gather around the table, and it is this heritage that sustains the planet we cherish.

Heritage · Three Generations
Since 2010, Ratna and Dr. Ashit Bavadekar have transformed a simple passion into a committed cooperative of skilled farmers. What began as a pastime on the terraced slopes of Kaswand has evolved into the cultivation of the finest seasonal produce.
Building on the pioneering legacy of Sarojtai Bavadekar—who first brought Californian strawberries to Bhilar in the late 1980s—we continue to uphold the tradition that earned our region the title: “The Strawberry Capital of India.”
Both accomplished professionals—Ratna, a practicing architect, and Ashit, an orthopedic surgeon in Mumbai—have chosen to ground their life's work in these mountains, honoring the heritage and natural beauty of Mahabaleshwar.
Our Commitments
We choose depth over volume—working with families who care how their food is grown.
We offer our harvest in deliberately limited quantities, for homes that notice the difference in fragrance, sweetness, and shelf life.
Fruits and vegetables leave the farm the day they are picked—retaining the crisp textures and nutrients urban shelves rarely see.
From soil to packing crate, every step follows strict hygiene and traceability practices suited for families and young children.
Sustainability Initiatives
Our methods are designed to leave the slopes richer, not depleted—from mixed cropping and cover to water conservation and biodynamic cycles.
We help neighbouring farmers present their produce under a shared quality standard, sustaining livelihoods within their own villages.
Intercropping and cover provide living roots through the year, cycling nutrients and guarding the terraces against erosion.
We favour organic manures and compost over harsh synthetics—building soil that is alive, rather than merely productive.
Drip irrigation and careful scheduling mean each plant drinks what it needs, no more—protecting both yield and watershed.
By-products return to the soil via compost and mulches, weaving a biodynamic cycle across the farm.
Urban families receive produce at its honest peak—grown slowly, harvested once ready, never rushed to meet an artificial schedule.
Seasonal Availability
We follow the rhythm of the slopes, not a factory calendar. Our list changes through the winter as varieties ripen.
Winter Harvest · Nov–Mar
Nature's Own Timing
The availability of La valée's produce is strictly determined by seasonal ripening and quality thresholds. If a lot does not meet our standards, it simply does not travel.
“In accordance with the laws that govern the Four Winds, the Sun, and Mother Earth.”
